FARGO — Cass County and the National Association of Counties are partnering to bring a prescription and health care discount program to Cass County residents.

The Live Healthy discount program is a national program that Cass County enrolled in to save residents money on monthly health care costs, said Catlin Solum, the public information coordinator for Cass County.

All Cass County residents are eligible to sign up for the program and receive prescription discounts at no cost, county officials said in a release.

Cass County residents can enroll in the prescription savings program at livehealthycard.com/print-a-card/participating-counties. Once filled out, users can print their card to present at participating pharmacies.

Using the in-network pharmacy locator , 40 participating pharmacies were found in Cass County that will accept the card, which can be used nationwide, the release said.

The Live Healthy Discount Program is not insurance, Solum said. The program is similar to GoodRx, which supplies a variety of individual medication discount cards on their website. With the Live Healthy card, Cass County residents can receive discounts on all qualifying medications by presenting the card.

The Live Healthy prescription savings card may not be used in addition to insurance. Residents who are already insured can still sign up for the card and may opt to use it at times when their copay is less with the card than with their regular insurance, according to the Live Healthy website.

It's unclear if Clay County is officially signed up for the Live Healthy discount program, Clay County Public Health Administrator Cathy Mckay said. However, when Clay County zip codes are typed in, users are able to sign up for the card.

Clay County offers similar prescription savings opportunities through GoodRx, which supplied them with cards to present to residents, Mckay said.

Residents can pick up physical cards at Clay County Public Health or go on the GoodRx website to access the discounts, she said.

On the GoodRx website, users can input what medications they are picking up and what pharmacy they are using to get specific discount cards. There is not one single card that covers all medications through GoodRx.

Pharmacies in North Dakota do not accept GoodRx coupons, Mckay said.

The Live Healthy program offers additional health care assistance. Benefits include discounts on dental treatments, vision procedures, eyewear, hearing aids, hearing screenings, lab services, diagnostic imaging, diabetic supplies and 24/7 telemedicine.

A full list of health discount rates may be accessed livehealthycard.com/health, and the list of dental discounts can be found on this website livehealthycard.com/dental. Cass County residents need to enroll in those programs to receive the benefits, Cass County officials said.

MinuteClinic service discounts are also available through the Live Healthy program. Enrolled residents can expect a 10% savings on MinuteClinic services, according to the Live Healthy website.
